I have only used a ROBB once and my brother in law who owns a 3000 series JD had found one and it was great. He has rocky ground and could take the rippers and pull the rocks up and then roll the box over and level the ground and rocks as needed. Must be able to reach the lever from the seat for the fullest and easiest use.

I致e got irregular sandy rocky somewhat sloped ground.

I would like the 60 but it sounds like the next size down would be a better fit. I have a loader on the front for weight but it may not help.

I really don't see the issue with a 60" on your tractor. I doubt very seriously you will stall the engine unless you are in too high of gear. Once you learn how to use it with the limitations of your tractor, it will perform just fine. Good luck!

That痴 my tractor. Do you think the 60 is too big?
I like the idea of the Robb vs a standard box.

The 60" unit will be fine. I did not realize that your tractor was the actual size that it is in my earlier reply. You may be doing a lot of work in a lower gear, but it will work fine IMO.

Please let us know your decision and how you like whatever it is that you end up with.

Looking at a Gill/Woods @ 725 lbs.
Anyone have experience with this weight on a routine basis for this size tractor?

Looks like 3pt capacity on the tractor is 895 lbs but I don稚 want to create problems.

Thanks

That seems like a low hitch lift rating for a tractor of that size. If that is truly all the 3pt will lift at the draft link ends, then you need to find something that is closer to the 500lb range. Remember that you need to consider that the weight is behind the hitch point making the implement even heavier for the hitch to raise plus having a load of material in the box applies more weight-resistance to the box.

If the ROBB is a very good price, then buy it, if it works, GREAT. If not, nothing lost and just sell it. You are not going to hurt the tractor with it being to heavy. It just won't lift it. But you need to be able to raise the implement when under full load, and I believe that based on the lift spec you have listed you are at that area of not being able to make full use of the implement.

Good luck. ;)
