Spent a few hours sitting on the seat of one of those watching the back end of several horse going forward.

Put a tractor in front and use a rope to engage the lift pedal.

My father did a lot of planting and mowing with horse-drawn equipment behind the 8N, with me sitting in the implement seat operating the pedals and levers!

Same here, except it was a TO20. I think watching the rear of a horse was more entertaining with the exception of the occasional "exhaust". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When we pulled the converted Binder I got to drive the tractor. An Alis Chalmers B. Dad sat on the Binder.

In old days, when I was a kid, I used a kind of wheat harvester; a horse-driven threshing sled with flint stones under it which seperates the wheat grain from its head (ear?). Although the tractors available (a MH 744) it was fun to harvest using that threshing sled. (I'm not sure if it's called threshing sled - see small picture)
