I built one...Modeled after this guy's: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/120382-show-your-rock-soil-seperators.html#post1388113

The side pieces (with the legs) can be unbolted from the sifting table for more compact storage. Also, the angle can be adjusted by removing the lower bolts and allowing the table to swing into another position. I was really surprised how well it has held up, considering here in Central PA we have some pretty large rocks (basketball+) mixed in.
I got the chain link fence for free off of craigslist from a local fence installer. It was just a short scrap piece he had laying around...I'vs got about $80 into it for the lumber, fasteners, etc.

It worked quite well, until I got sloppy and dropped the box on it. Split the wood at one of the bolts... once thats fixed I can sift more and fill in some trenches I dug for some drain pipe I installed.

PS: all the lumber is 2x4, bolts are 1/2", joints are glued and screwed (Totally forgot I bought joist hangers for this project until AFTER it was done...)

Here are my rough plans I sketched. I don't remember how well I followed them, nor if all the sketching goes together. I went in several different directions until I ended up with what I built. But if it helps anyone else thinking about making one, there you are.20120821_123815.jpg

It looks like it doen't do too bad!

Perhaps if you put a piece of wood along the front edge between
the rocks and sifted material if will keep them apart plus when you
push into the sifted material w/ the FEL that seperator will help
hold the sifter in place since it would be pushing against rocks, plus
when you push to pick up rocks if you leave the sifted materials
in place it will do the same.

Another thought is if you put it on simple skids, and when either
pile is big enough just slide the device left or right and keep going.

There is a 90 degree right angle, what are the other angles?

I like the screen and I the skid idea sounds like it has merit too. If I were screening a lot of dirt/rock it might be a good idea to be able to back up to the sled, raise the 3-point with an attached hook and quickly drag the sled, setting it down in a new position.
