Rocker Panel Switch for my 4310

Hello,

I was wondering if any tractor owners have used one of these Rocker Panel Switches in your Curtis or John Deere cab to handle accessory devices. I was thinking that it would centralize all your off/on switches in one location, and would be more convenient than reaching to different areas of your tractor to shut things down while working in your tractor.

If you have one installed, do you know how to alter the wiring to make one of the rocker switches, the "master" on/off switch to shut down the entire rocker panel to prevent unnecessary battery drain.

Do you have a wiring diagram for this panel? From that I may be able to tell how to make one switch a master.

No but I always wondered why most dual USB power adapters had a 1 amp slot and a 2 amp. I found a dual 2 amp at Walmart while the wife and I were out on the road and it overheats with both phones plugged in. Starts flashing the LED and charge drops until it cools then it tries to charge both phones again. Unplug one phone and it works non stop.

Wish I could get a copy of the wiring diagram . . . looked all over the Internet but couldn't find one, which is why I posted my question . . . would hate to buy it and find out it one of the rocker switches couldn't be wired as a Master Switch . . .

Probably the easiest thing to do is wire a master switch upstream from the panel.

Any reason you couldn’t bring the positive into the first switch and feed all others from that switch? I’m on my phone and don’t think I can draw a schematic on here to offer a visual but I don’t see why this would be difficult.

Assuming you are landing the negative of each accessory on the frame and just running a positive to each of them, I would just start run a (FUSED!) positive to the first switch, then link the output of that switch to each of those switches. It would probably end up as a very clean way of wiring that little panel.

Thanks for all your replies.

I'm not trying to make this a more confused thread on my part, but I had to change my Rocker Panel Switch selection and this is the one I ended up buying.

I know nothing about electrical wiring. I even have difficulty loading a flashlight with batteries. I'm reluctant to cut and re-arrange wires without knowing what I'm actually doing. So this project is in limbo. Any help would be appreciated.

The Rocker Panel Switch was purchased on Amazon - they have many to choose from.

It could be modified, but my bigger concern here is what do you plan to power with these switches? They seem to be very light duty, so over-current protection is a valid concern.

You could make this switch assembly only on when key on, by powering the switch assembly via relay with fuses. I can elaborate, but hard to explain typing here...

You got several good replies on another forum. As your panel sits; one fuse protects the voltmeter and two switches directly below it, the other fuse protects the USB outlets/ports and the two switches below them.

You were given multiple options that would work. From quick and easy to a complete rewire (which was well thought out) I'll bet that guy would do the wiring for you, his way, if you sent him the panel!

It even looks like there is room to drill a hole between the voltmeter and USB outlets and mount a toggle switch for a master switch. Just make sure the amp rating is high enough (at least 15A), fused power to one side, two fused panel leads to the other. You could leave or cut out those fuses.
