Rocky, the custom treadmill trommel that I built, works great! :cool2::dance1:
Made with an old treadmill motor and belt, and a lower unit from an old boat motor to turn the chains/sprockets 90⁰ and gear it down some more for the belt feed.
Lower cabinet is sealed and fans provide positive pressure to keep dust out of the motor. The trailer jack is used to set the angle.
Grizzly bars and tongue can be stowed, and feed belt can be folded down to fit in pickup.
I've always wanted to build something like this for sifting soil, compost, etc.
I recently built a 300ft timber retaining wall, and have about 50 yds of material left over from that to sift.
So that was the push I needed to finally build this.
Took me about 2 weeks to build it.
Got the treadmill for free and a few used bike rims for the drum.
I had some of the other parts left over from previous projects, and the rest I bought.
Even made some logos for it with my CNC vinyl cutter!
