BX2200
A new and scary event happened this week when I rolled my BX2200 onto her side. Thank god for the ROPS! Without too much detail it was definately operator stupidity. Slope was too steep, when front wheel dropped into a hole and before you could say 'holy crap' she does a slow motion roll. My question is this: The tractor was on it's side for about 40 minutes before I was able to right it back up on four wheels. After getting it back on terra firma I noticed that about a quart of hydralic oil had run down the side of the back left tire. That was the high side of the tractor when she laid down. Any one with any ideas where that oil leaked from? I haven't notice any other leakage...

Glad you're o.k. I think this is the first report I've ever read of a BX rollover. It has a low center of gravity and I like the stability.

Look way back behind and just below the mount point for your top link on the 3ph. You'll see a little screw cap where the fluid goes in. Look just to the left of that and you'll see the little dipstick with which to measure.

You will also find a rubber U shaped tube about 3/8" in diameter near the filler cap. That is a vent for the transmission and the fluid may have leaked from there.

Since the leakage was at the rear of the tractor and was hydraulic fluid I doubt there is anything to be concerned about.

Don't forget to check the battery and the area around the battery in case acid leaked out. I would wash that area liberally with fresh water even if you don't see any acid. The water won't hurt anything and I would want to be sure there was no acid on anything.

Glad you are OK.

I assume the deck was off for this manuever? I always figured the deck would do alot of damage to the bottom in a roll-over.

Yes it looks like the fluid came from the filler tube. No deck was attached so no problem there but I have some new scratches on the roll-over bar. I'll never have any negative comments about ROPS again!

Did the ROPS help? Did it go all the way over on it's back?

I had my bx 23 on its side too its amazind how fast it happens.
fel was too high and a little hole front wheel went in over i go

threw chain over both outrigers on bh to frame and hooked to my truck and it came back up

checked all the fluids (didnt loose any) back to work with a bit more caution.

Were you wearing your seat belt? After some stories here (the one that got me was that I may fall off and the thing would run me over) I wear mine all the time.
I am glad you are OK, and so is your BX.

Glad you're OK.
Don't know where your fluid leaked from, but just check your levels, add accordingly, and monitor closely. Should be fine.
Good luck.
