Anyone have a Roomba? I was contemplating buying one for my wife for Christmas. We have bare floors and oriental rugs, no wall to wall carpet. We also have dogs and cats that generate most of the dirt...animal hair. Any opinions?

I do not think they would work too great on animal hair. But since you state you have mostly hard floors maybe it wouldn't be a problem. I just know it is a problem on our "wall to wall" carpet. I guess I would also have a concern over the amount of suction that unit could generate. My dog would chase it all over the room! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The sales person at Sears would not even discuss the Roomba. Said it was just a toy. However we did buy the Dyson Animal vacuum. It is the greatest machine we have ever had. We have 3 dogs and a cat and it seems like hair everywhere. This thing just works great. Like it so much I even bought on for my mother.

I got my wife the Roomba last year. She's used it once & I used it twice. It's more of a novelty than anything else. It can't pick up much dirt, & it can get stuck against an object. Not worth the money in my opinion.

And I thought you were going to say you bought the company /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
