Well we tried that, and without much success. There is a lot of the tree underground, as it's laying on it's side, that we cannot get to. We thought we had it cut enough, but even with my 4WD diesel truck in 4Lo and a grade 70 5/16" chain, connected to the top of the stump, 24ft away, there was not enough leverage to even budge the trunk.
Of course , AFTER we did those cuts, my wife decided she wanted me to cut it about 6ft up and try to get the stump vertical. Then wants a fairy house made from it, in place. So that is the latest thought. Right now I have all the limbs cut into firewood size pieces or limbs to burn. All the firewood is stacked at the end of my driveway. Only the long trunk and 2 very large limbs (2ft by 10-12ft) to cut to firewood, maybe.
