Rebuilt two swing arm cylinders on the backhoe today. The second one only took about 1 hour. I wish I could say the same about the first one. I guess it always takes longer the first time you do anything like that. Expecting the new ROPS to arrive on Fri. It should be a big day getting it and backhoe all mounted to the tractor. Will post a picture of the finished project.

Bifocals will help that problem. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I hate to admit that but you are probably correct about the bifocals.

Sorry, I should have mentioned to you that it would be a LOT easier to reseal them with the BH mounted on the tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Lookin' good! You are going to like the 4560. It's a good ol' backhoe. Nothing fancy, but it will do about anything you want. And the back end of that 3710 will never - repeat never - get light doing FEL work.

I find the BH works smoothly at 1600-1900 rpm. If you wind it up to higher speeds, the controls operate too fast for my level of skill.

Nice job!

Grandad is correct, I find the 4560 works best around 1800 RPM's. I have yet to find anything I could not move / dig with it. I think you will be real happy with your purchase.

Gary.

Well, I got out on the tractor on Sun. The backhoe was working very well to start. After about an hour I noticed that I had fluid coming from the two swing arm cylinders that I had just rebuilt. It may only be coming from one and just crossing over to the other through the hose that runs between them. ??? Soon after i noticed that the main lift for the backhoe kept sagging. I would have to keep pressure on the lift handle to keep it up. If I wanted to move the tractor, I had to put the transport locking pin in to keep it from dropping to the ground. I don't know if the problem is in the valve or in the cylinder. Any thoughts??? Rossi Bob
