ROPS Tubing: Drilling Holes

I love that stuff! I just wish I was the person the developed it.

Seen the click bond threaded studs? They are the mechanical equivalent. Super handy.

I drilled a 5/16 in the front and 3/4 in the back to fit a socket. I haven't rolled my tractor and don't plan on it. I have never once worn the seat belt. The rops isn't gonna do much good if you don't wear a seat belt anyways. how many of you wear your belts

I am religious about wearing the seat belt. Take a few minutes and read some of the FACE reports on tractor related deaths. I replaced the seat belt on my current Bobcat to make sure that it was reliable.

I have drilled and tapped many holes in my ROPS and have had a tractor roll thankfully without me on!!
the only deflection in the roll bar was where it hit and put the force sideways on an area that had two holes drilled and tapped with nothing in them. Where the grease gun, the magnetic tool holder, and the bracket for a couple of crescent wrenches were mounted and bolts in the holes it was all straight and intact, the grease gun and the bracket to hold it didn't look too good afterwards but the bolts backed out just fine. My thoughts you want to drill holes and tap them to mount stuff go for it, just make sure to put at least a grade 5 bolt in the hole even if its holding nothing on.
