ROPS work light power source?

Hi Guys,

I got them through NAPA. They're Grote 63821-5.

I'm very happy with them. Only downside I see is price (~150$ each), but in all honesty the savings in durability, and the not worrying about amperage draw, comes close to making up for it.

Same thought about not having to worry about amp draw. I also looked at the ones from NAPA / Grote at Approx $120 each. Ended up with ones from Maxxima since they were a little cheaper (not much but some) and had more lumen's (600 instead of 400) and were rectangle instead of round. Did you see the one set of rectangle ones from Grote at NAPA - they were only $1200 a piece!!!

Good thing that you guys are talking about LED lights.
I have been thinking about one of these (see attached image) from Northern Tool. The $150 price tag on the NAPA lights is just too rich for my taste and this thing is about $35. Anyone used them? The reviews seem positive.

I considered one rectangular trilliant, but it was 5-600$!! For the right application the durability, lifespan, and amp draw are sure important. They're overkill for me, but I've never been known for 'showing up light'...

NAPA does put these things on sale at times, keep an eye out.

For 35$ it's worth a try.

An LED is kind of a all-or-none device. Should be good.

My halogen was $27 from Parts for Trucks.. replacement bulb is around $3.

I've had it for almost a year now on one bulb. Unless you need a lot of them at once, the LED lights are not my choice for economical lighting.

I own a L3540 ROPS and there are 3 female connectors under the seat to power work lights.

I had the dealer installed the Kubota rear light on the ROPS when I bought the tractor. It came with an L shaped bracket that is attached to one side of the ROPS with U-bolts.

This work light has a 25 watts bulb wich I think is bearly enough...
So I made another L shaped bracket that I installed on the other side of the ROPS. I put two 12$ truck work light. One on that bracket that I made and the other one on the existing bracket.
I connected them to the two remaining connectors under the seat.

These work lights are 55 wats PAR seald beams.

They point toward the front. They are powerfull and they realy do a great job.

I have wires under my fenders too, but they are being used for my factory orange running/blinky lights (or whatever they are called). You can see the wires for both sides in the pic below:

I see Stratton has rear orange blinky lights (what ARE they called?)? For those who have connected work lights to the rear fender wires, where does the other end come out? Is it connected to anything, or is it always powered? Are they fused separately? I wonder if I have those wires on my L4200...

If you found a live wire, tap into it with a switched parallel circuit and Bob will be your uncle. That's where the low draw of the LED's is great, because you don't have to worry about overloading stuff.

Blinky lights are........... flashers where I come from!!!. Strobes maybe?? Beacons??

The one I just replaced was listed as a "hazard light" .. The only hazard, as far as I'm concerned, was the price..
