At the risk of the wrath of the safety police, the rigid one could be shortened enough to go in your doors. I did that to mine years ago and it was still way better than none, and also better than a folding one left down, which I'll bet happens often. As long as the ROPS is a few inches above the operator's head, it'll probably be safe enough.

Nice job and now i see how it can be done.. You still use the grade 8 bolts, or pins? My retainer is different, but it should work too?
Any speculation about roll-over safety with this hinge? Will it hold up under the weight?
