ROPS?

Roy, I Assume you are refering to lia-ability? Maybe if the dealer took it, he would automaticly deduct for a new rops? If I modified it in this manner, it would definitely be an improvement ......I cannot see that it will be weaker? I really doubt you can buy Factory hinges and these will fit? Just sayin...

It wouldn't be an improvement in a dealer's eyes. No testing, no certification...it's just a broken ROPS requiring replacement before a sale. You might be a great welder...or a lousy one. Those welds may look good on the surface, but have no penetration. That's not a risk a dealer would take...maybe a private party buyer, but not a dealer.

Roy is correct. Some dealers that are/were members here on the forum have said in the past that it was an automatic for them. Non factory certified ROPS required replacement before they could sell it. Liability issues as you said. Price the ROPS on line. Big bucks. It is going to come off the top on a trade in price. Of course that may not be a concern in your case.
