The RotaDairon is a wonderful tool. Regarding the posts on making your own, I am not sure it would be worth the effort. There are a few features on this machine that you couldn't duplicate, and don't forget it is reverse rotation. While RotaDairon is priced above many 3ph machines, the productivity is really unmatched, and you would have a tough time matching the quality.
I have personally run most of the models, ranging from the mini skid steer version, up to the 12 ft model.
