Rotary Cutter Rotary cutter - J-Bar or Howse?

   / Rotary cutter - J-Bar or Howse? #11
If you are cutting grass, weeds, and small 1/2" thick brush either will do fine.

if you are bouncing off of stumps and rocks, neither will last very long.

The cutters are strong, but in a light duty way. If you want a tank, the price is much higher!

Ain't neither items meant or built for serious, heavy banging. They are light duty grass cutters that can handle occasional overgrowth. I've hit some 1" stuff with the Howse and it did fine, did great in fact, but I'm not going to do it on a regular basis because it would beat the High Holy out of it. For regular brush chomping I'm going Woods/Rhino/BH/Brown/Dale Phillips/etc.

For a decent general purpose shredder for under a grand.........either will do good as long you don't try to reclaim the Amazon with it.

don't know the pricing of either, but take a drive to TSC and check out the king kutter brand, seem fairly decent for the price.

it'd be pretty close, maybe a little more.
