I will second the positive comments on the paint job. Looks great. Noticed you are missing the extra top link part that lets the mower follow the ground. Did you take it off for the paintjob or are you missing that part?

Hey Rob, thanks for the comments.

Not sure what you are talking about regarding the extra top link. Can you be more specific or perhaps point me to a picture ? If I am missing something I am not aware of it.

Dave,

This is the part I was refering to:
http://www.landpride.com/ari/attach/lp/public/manuals/312-556p.pdf

See page 12 part # 2 "PIVOTING UPPER HITCH"

It lets the cutter swing up and down to better follow the contours of the ground while cutting.

Also seen on the KK in this pic:

Thanks Rob. I emailed the guy I bought it from to see if he has that piece. It appears, as you pointed out, that it should have one. I guess it may be an optional piece as far as installing goes. Hopefully the guy still has it and just forgot.

Anyhow, thanks for pointing that out !

It's just a "U" or "H" shaped piece with a couple of holes for your link pins.

It allows the attachment to move a little forward or back to follow the ground.

It's not a good picture, but this mower has one , so you can get an idea of the size. It could also probably be made by drilling a couple of holes in the correct sized pipe:

If you don't find that piece, I would highly suggest purchasing one. That is the only thing that lets that mower "float". If you hit any humps or try to back that thing up a hill, you're gonna bend something... and It will likely cost you a lot more than if you had just bought that piece already. JMO though.

Looks good but I used TSC paint on my Kubota to touch up some spots and it sun faded to a chaulky appearance very quickly.

Well, I emailed the guy and he said that piece never came with it. I then looked at the hard copy manual that he provided, and lo and behold it does not show that piece in the parts listing, and even leaves out the sentence about installing that piece in the assy instructions. So maybe the TSC branded ones did not have that piece. Anyhow, maybe if I can find one cheap somewhere I'll pick one up. It would be nice to have it float a bit while mowing.

Thanks all.

Guess I'll find out. I plan to keep it under roof when not in use, so hopefully it will last a while...

I used to have the TSC brand and it didn't have the floating link either. The TSC cutter might be a lower end cutter from KK. Actually, I don't think my Bush Hog as a floating link either. Might have to make one up.

BTW, nice job on the paint.

I just cut down a grader blade I got for a great price. I went from 6 foot to 4 foot. That's what my 7300 is rated for when using a box blade plus I wanted a smaller blade to do trail work in the woods. I found a used 6' blade that pivots both directions (something I was looking for) and used the ends I cut off to make a box blade set up I can bolt on the blade when I want to drag more dirt. Now I'm trying to decide if I should spend the time sandblasting and painting the blade or just use as is.
