Rotary cutter "settles" in park

I set the "Implement Lowering Limit" on my new B2320 so that the rotary cutter would be level at the lowest setting. Dunno if that's right, but that's what I did, and it seems to work.

After I park on level concrete and shut it off, it is still sitting level and purty in matching orange when I go into the house.

After a half hour or so, it has "settled" and the front edge of the kutter is on the concrete. I guess the hydraulics slowly bleed internally, or something? Is this normal, and is there a better way to set level so it's always the same?

Lower the implement to the ground when parking. That is standard safety practice. Some leakage will be considered normal. There is probably a leakdown specification you can get from a Kubota dealer.

yes its normal if you do not close the needle valve.


if you close the needle valve/position lock valve under the seat(assuming it has one) it will not drop.

If you readjust the top link by lengthening it it will always be level provided you change the postion of the rear tire by raising it two holes-riase the tire up two holes.

If you have clean ground you can set the mower on a flat surface where you can adjust the three point linkage to the point where it always is flat on the ground riding on the side walls of the cutter which is common and keeps debris in the housing and avoids spitting it out the sides and ok as long as the rear tire is not holding the rear of the mower up.

You can use the needle valve to lock the height of the rotary cutter and mow with that height with out settling too

It all depends on how close a haircut you want give it every time.

Me, I love flail mowers, no worries, nice cut, more cutting surfaces per inch of width, more knife blades to have an even cut, full width rear and front rollers to prevent scalping, fine mulching while cutting, no throwing objects,
mows wet grass, chops leaves and mulches.
