I used a Land Pride 5 foot cutter with a little YM 1700 Yanmar for 14 years. It ran it fine with 17 HP at the PTO. I later traded up to a 23 PTO HP tractor and got a 6' Woods PRD. The 1720 New Holland pulled it fine but struggled more than the little Yanmar with the 5 footer. The New Holland weighed around 3300# where the Yanmar only weighed around 1800# with loaded rears.
