Thanks to all. The comments were both educational and entertaining. I'll probably try to get a 4' or possibly 5' finishing mower for my JD 790. I have a small Zero Turn Ex Mark (48"), and it does fine. I am worried about wearing it out with all this grass I have, this is the reason I'm thinking about a finishing mower. Besides it would be more relaxing riding the tractor than the Ex Mark.

I would get at least a 5', but I think a 6' would be the best choice if your property is mainly open space without many obstacles, as the 5' may be easier to maneuver in those situations. The 790 won't have a problem turning the 6' as I have no problem turning a 6' ft with the 3320 and it only has 2 more hp to the PTO than a 790 does. Keep the blades sharp and the deck clear and it will do fine. The one thing you'll want to check with though before you purchase is what the weight of the mower is. Make sure it's within the lifting capacity of your 3 pt .
I use the Woods PRD7200 6' RFM to cut 7 of my 11 acres right now and in terms of total cut time, combined with the extra speed of the 3320, I was able to cut it in half from 6 - 8 hrs, with the former 73' IH Cub w/ a 5' Woods belly mower, down to 2.5 - 4 hrs with the new setup. The Cub itself was only 11 engine hp, as far as the PTO I can't remember off hand, but as long as you kept the blades sharp and the underneath of the deck clear, it had no problem turning a 5' deck. Based on that alone was how I figured the 25.5 PTO hp of the 3320 would have no problem turning a 6' deck. Heck, some people on this site even use a 6' foot deck behind a 2520, which is even less HP then your 790, so you definitely shouldn't have a problem. Just check the weight first, that would be my only worry.
