Rotary Cutter Rotary Cutters

 / Rotary Cutters #31
As you can see from the picture, the Woods is one heavy duty machine. Even their lightest unit is still a far cry heavier duty than anything on the market. I have a Woods, M5 - Dixie Cutter that is over 25 years old and the only thing I've replaced is the blades. I've split enough rocks to build a fine-looking chimney and still the unit keeps on running. Most of it's life it has sat outdoors so the steel deck is beginning to look a little worse for wear, but it still can cut through anything, and I mean anything. My Dad has a King Kutter 5 ft that although is a fine machine, there is no comparison. The bent I-Beam side rail is a good idea, but the deck material is just too light and has suffered some major dents. I think most of us could get by with a King Kutter, but if you truly want a quality machine, go with the Woods.

Cleev,

By the way, I think you had gotten a very good price on your Brown 460...

How do you like it so far?

Checked the weight of the medium duty 5'. At over 1,000 lbs that would be too much for a 2910. The light duty looks a lot like a JD 513. Have you been able to view them at a dealer?

IMHO, I would rank Rhino the #1 rotary cutter, and the Woods at or near the bottom.

The only cutters I would even consider are the Rhino, Land Pride and Bush Hog.

John,

Thanks for the heads-up. I checked out the Brushbull page and also looked around at the rest of the site. Looks like they made a few updates in other places too.

I guess most people who buy Woods products probably don't go anywhere near the website, but for nerds like me who like to research these things it is important/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.
