I am looking at purchasing a rotary tiller for my TC 45 I would like any suggestions on what size would be most suitable for the TC45 from a performance standpoint, 42 inch,50 inch, 58 inch or 60 inch. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

40 pto hp TC 45 should more than amply operate a 6' (72") wide rotary tiller without breaking a sweat under most condition. I run a 60" wide rotary tiller for my 23.3 pto hp tractor without any issues.

I have a 72" tiller on a TC 40. Never have had any problems about power. I do lawn seeding and have been in all kinds of soils. Just have to remember the slower the ground speed the better.

I have a King Kutter II 72 inch tiller behind my TC-45D. In two passes I can completely pulverize the soil down to 8 inches deep. The tractor never even strains.

Works great!

KingKutter II, 72" is my suggestion added to the "pile." Anything less and you'll be disappointed. I L-U-V my tiller.:)

Ditto on King kutter, price and performance combined and you can beat it. Two passes and a whopping 15 minutes later and below is what I ended up with... I was really taking my sweet time as well.:D

I run a 60" King Kutter on my 1700 4x4 and it really works good on fall plowed garden soil. Smooth as a new sandpile. However where I live the ground is half rocks so I can't break up new soil because it wants to run on top of the rocks or turn over the large ones and bounces quite a bit. Need a down pressure 3 point for that. :)

Not sure if I can get one that beefy around here, I will try and find something comparable. Thanks!!
How deep can you go at a swipe? Guess it depends on soil, I have mainly older grass pasture.

From your pictures it looks like a piston for downpressure is rigged, do you have 1 or 2 remotes rigged as well?

Great picture, looks exactly like what I have to deal with, several large gardens to create and 200 x 200 riding arena
