ROTTEN DAY TO PLOW SNOW

You retired guys...... (imagine getting the raspberries here).

Nothing to plow here but mud. I live in the hills but work in the flatlands . Had to leave work at 3:30 this afternoon before all the roads closed due to flooding. Just made it over one bridge and a few minutes later they closed the bridge. Glad I didn't get stuck at work. Now I get to sit around home and read this stuff from you retired guys.....

Yeah, I'll bet it is Frank. Looking forward to it myself in... too many years.

I did some plowing yesterday too. Only had 5-6 inches but the kids were off school. Backroads were pretty icy. Of course, I had to wait until I got home from WORK before I could enjoy myself. Was only planning on scraping off the concrete apron at the garage but the tractor got the best of me and we did the whole drive /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Being retired is nice! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Plowed out of my garage to the driveway so my better half could get to work.By the time I was done the driveway to my garage had blown in all over again. Just to say it was a little windy on the hill today. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Take care and stay warm.

"All you retired guys stand up and be heard"...

WELL I'M ONE OF THEM TOO....so don't tell me to sit down and shut up.

Five, ten, fifteen or twenty years from now, most of you will be retired yourselves....and in the same boat as we are now.

And will you gloat about it to the poor TBN members slaving away on the treadmill...?

HECK YES. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Frank....my wife is a big Dave Mathews fan and forces me to listen to all his music. Anyhow he has a song called "Ants Marching". I'm still an Ant marching for sure....while you guys are over there with the grasshoppers under the shady blades of grass, chewing your cud, watching it all go by.

I am the youngest of 5 children, and have 2 older brothers who have been retired for several years. We all love to fish, and I thought when they retired , I would have up-to-date information on where the fish were biting at all times. That couldn't be further from the truth....as they actually have to call me to find out where the latest hot spots are. I am cooped up at work all week, and when the weekend comes , I start charging. They on the other hand , avoid weekend crowds, and are real particular about doing things mid week, like fishing local lakes...just to avoid crowds. Do you retired folks all get picky about your activities ....just to avoid the crowds?

Anyhow, we all have something to look forward to. Mentally, I am ready to start that next phase of my life....financially....well....the Ant is still marching.....

Crowds!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I avoided crowds before I retired.
Does a traffic jam count as a crowd? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

We must appreciate all those working folks..... They are the ones that are slaving away just to fund our Social Security Checks every month. Without them, who knows, the government might just stop mailing the checks for lack of funds to pay us. I only made one mistake in my entire working carreer... I didn't work for a government entity ... if I had, then I wouldn't have had to pay Social Security Taxes and I wouldn't have to pay income taxes on my retirement income. Got to admit..... government has a way of exempting themselves from everything that us common folk have to pay... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Junkman, I worked for a government entity and I can assure you that I'm paying income tax on the pension I'm getting. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
