As far as your neighbor shearing his pins at PTO engagement...I expect he's engaging at too high an RPM or has a lower grade shear pin then specified.
First, suggest he ensure he has the correct pin installed, then suggest he engage at about 1000 RPM and be prepared to give it a bit more throttle if the engine starts to stall.

BTW, I have one of theose "greedy american doctors" as a neighbor who lives on 10 acres, in a 250 k home drives a 9 year old SUV and a 4 year old BMW, and twice a year goes over seas on missions, pays his own way and all expenses to help people in other countries who cannot afford health care.

When you cut out very greedy doctors and "business like" hospitals you dramatically cut costs. Doctors in Canada make a very good living. Maybe they don't have the 20,000 sq ft house on 10,000 acres and 10 'super' cars in the garage but they have more than enough money to do anything in the world they like.

Not the typical demographic of the vast majority of doctors. (I know this since I'm retired after many decades working in health care).

Most MDs in the US are so burdened with debt from their school loans, they're lucky to break even after a decade of practice

The extraordinarily high health care costs in the US are a function of very greedy corporations that own hospitals in groups, combined with the pharmaceutical and insurance companies all looking for huge profits.

And the US does not want Obama care????

Were you to examine the polls, the majority of people in the USA (60+%) are in favor of the new health-care law.

Political extremists, big insurance/pharmaceutical companies/for profit hospital corps are the ones leading the charge against it

I'm with Roy on this one. I think the Sovema is your best bet. There is also a guy in the Headingly area that you can get a Farm King from but I believe a couple hundred more. Saw one on Kijiji.

I agree with Roy & Lockporton going with new. From what you are seeing as limited in used, if you buy new and have to sell in a few years from now you won't take near the depreciation hit like the rest of us see where used cutters are widely available.
