I ordered this set of square female/male sockets tonight. The bleeder plug in the center on the 1950's in-ground single post car lift is a 7/16" square male. It is recessed about 8" and the square head is still square and I want to keep it that way. A crows foot may have worked but I do not want to risk it since It may not have been out in many years. I liked this set because it comes with a storage box to make it easier to keep the set together is a drawer of seldom used special tools. There are cheaper options but without the right tool a 30 second job can become long by days, weeks, months. This thread has been thought provoking.

I will check back in around 2000 to see if that plug is out yet!
Excellent! I believe this method has not been suggested to date...By now, the plug has rusted to nothing and has fallen out. That's what happens when the paint gets scuffed.
