Roundup or the other stuff?

Read the ..... Label. I wish I had. mixed a tank of 24D to spot spray the dandelions. Mixed it too strong and sprayed. I realized it was too strong when even the grass was dying. Had half a tank left so refilled with water to get down to asround 2oz/gal. Sprayed again, grass still died.

Brain STORM!!! Looked at the jug - yep, RU!!

So both jugs were in white containers, both the same size and sitting on the same shelf. How I didn't see the RoundUP label when I was measuring it out is beyond me.

My lawn...ok weed patch is more accurate, is now a nice polka dot effect with dead spots everywhere.

No worries. Scratch in a little grass seed on the spots after 3 days and you'll be all green again!

Does anybody add liquid dish detergent to their spray ? I was told it makes the spray stick to the leaves better.

Regular commercial surfactant works better, but reportedly Dawn dish detergent works well, better than any other detergent.

Also, read & follow the directions!

Mix too much 2,4-d and all you get is top kill, killing the top before it can translocate to the rest of the plant. Forget the "extra kick". The chemical company has researched the stuff and if more would work better they would say so, so they could sell you more stuff.

BTW, the glyphosate I buy has surfactant already mixed in. Cost about $2 more for 2.5 gal.
