Hm, half a meter precision is around 1.5 feet, when he's originally off by 1-2 feet, I'm not sure this would work out too well. Seems pretty horrible to me but I'm used to planting corn where a few inches actually matter a lot, I don't have experience with your system. Is half a meter like worst case and it's normally better than that or what has your experience been with that precision?
For MY applications, I don't need more precise location accuracy, but I guess Trimble has recognised that some operations would, and has much more precise solutions available (at extra cost). I think I read they can deliver accuracy down to 8mm.

I'm guessing that half a metre is worst case. In use so far, the unit typically is being guided by at least 40 satellites. That's many many more than GPS alone which my car unit uses which typically gives accuracy to about only 3 to 5 metres.
