For my XR4140H, I run most functions at RPM above 1500. Loader work higher for power, BH work also slightly higher for better control. So, when I hardly notice when I get a regen every 40-50 hours---just keep on working. I get a "feel" for how well the tractor can handle the task staying comfortable within my operator capability.

Duh, I did not think about the larger HP tractors with emissions stuff. I am below the 25 HP, so no emissions system. In that case, definitely run at higher RPMs. I could see the lower RPMs and loading the engine clogging up stuff quick.

If my BX had emission control where I had to run a PTO speed+ all the time I would be looking at putting a restrictor in the power feed to the BH to slow down the movement. I have full pressure around 1700 RPM. Over 2000 RPM movement gets fast and jerky. Working around obstructions like I do a lot it gets to easy to smash stuff inadvertently.

What speed do you all keep your tractor at while running your BH? My manual basically says it up to the operator, higher RPM means faster movement. Anyone have a sweet spot? I don稚 think pinning the RPMs is the best idea either. It痴 on a MT240HE.
