RTV 1100 Turbo

Dargo I am planing to install a turbo on my 1100. I'm not a mechanic nor do i have the time so I would be looking to have the kit installed. If you wouldn't mind letting my know what kit you installed and any other things you had to do to accommodate this kit and extra power It would be greatly appreciated so I can pass it on to whomever I choose to install it. From what have read it seems worth it to me. It's cheaper then throwing a cummins in er! Lol

Just got off the phone with my kubota dealer. I asked them about installing a turbo kit. They told me they have a customer that installed his himself he is a mechanic. He got nothing out if it so he brought it to them to adjust the tranny.... Still nothing. He told me it's a waste of time. Perhaps someone could help me out here. I know there was a fella on here from australia that worked for kubota or any one else who could shed some light on this so I can break it down for my dealer that would be great.

I haven't done alot of research on the subject but I have heard that it doesn't increase speed. it does increase the overall power, but I think my 1100 has plenty of that..High range power on hills improved from what I understand. Pretty expensive accessory for limited gain from what I hear...Could be wrong though

I've had a turbo on mine for about 2 years now and there is a HUGE difference in acceleration and hill climbing ability. I can spin both rear tires for about 3-5' taking off on concrete in L range. No way it would do that before. With the weight of the machine, IMHO, the turbo makes the size engine a good fit for the machine. Before it felt a little underpowered but now it feels about right. You won't confuse it for a fast machine, but it will get to it's 27mph or so on the speedo reasonably quick and hold that speed far better than it did before.

I do not have the pump turned up much at all on mine and I only put out a small puff of smoke when hitting the pedal hard. That leads me to believe a fella could get a bit more out of the turbo than I have, but I'm satisfied how mine runs. Unless I'm pulling a trailer or going for some steep hills, I generally just put it in H and go now. Before I pretty well had to run in M on most all trails. However, I can now make it through a mud bog spot in one trail in M that I never could make it through before. Before I just couldn't spin the tires hard enough in L and I'd bog down in M. Now it flings mud quite well in M locked in 4X4 (all 3 tires pulling).

I think I bought the kit from a company called SFS Specialities. I don't see where they list a turbo kit on their site though. My kit from them was for the 1100 or the 1140. The instructions were very good and I easily installed it in one afternoon. I don't know why they don't carry the kit anymore. Maybe they do but just don't advertise it on their site? Either way, I'm well pleased with it and have not had one bit of trouble. As I mentioned in the last post, I'm sure you could turn it up quite a bit more than where I have mine, but I like how mine drives the way it is. I don't feel like I'm stressing anything and, with the coast valve, it definitely is easier to drive. My wife would not touch it before the coast valve and she even commented that it felt sluggish a bit compared to my RTV900. There again, it seemed the more hours I got on my 900 and the harder I ran it, the better it performed.

Ok great thanks for the info. I emailed sfs to see if they still make there kits. I was thinking of going with the swag kit but it would be nice to have a few options and price them out. All I'm really looking for is to get up to speed quicker and like you said not have it bog down going up hills. I'm fine getting 24 mph as I was fully aware that was top speed when I purchased the machine. I was actually shocked when the dealer said it was a waste of time because from what I have read and watching some of the swag utube videos and seeing the dyno results it does appear to make a considerable difference.... That being said...3000 dollars worth of difference.. I dunno. It's a tough one.

I'd love to run mine up steep hills in H...3K is a lot of money to do that. I'm sure it's nice, but like you said..I dunno.

I'm pretty happy with my 1100 as is...The factory speakers kind of suck and I don't like the electric lift actuator on the plow..Oh well, can't have it all I guess.

I agree.. As is this machine is incredible. Going from a Polaris ranger to this is like two different worlds. I love this thing. Can't wait for the snow to fly so I can work in this toasty cab lol. I'm about to purchase a plow and I think I'm going with the boss v blade. Its a thousand bucks cheaper then the Kubota v blade and seems to be a well built plow. I'm going to continue to consider this whole turbo idea and possibly call around to some other kubota dealers and see if they have more experience with rtv turbos because it would be nice if I could get a dealer install from start to finish including tweaking the tranny. Like I said in a previous post he could only give reference to one guys machine and he did install it himself so perhaps something was overlooked. Dargo you seem very happy with yours so that gives me hope that it may be worth while.

Wow! $3000?!! I wouldn't have done that. I paid around half that for my turbo kit and, as I've mentioned, am well pleased with it.
