I think my original problem was caused by water in the fuel. When the problem first started I pulled the in-line filter and it was packed with ice. I replaced the filter but the same thing happened again. I think I resolved the fuel issue but then I put a Kubota separation filter in to replace the in-line filter and avoid the water in fuel issue in the future. Almost immediately the machine exhibited the same symptoms. As David_Kb7uns explained above I installed the separation filter incorrectly. I reversed the input and output sides of the new filter. Even the Kubota service tech did not know that the filter could be installed incorrectly. He fixed the symptoms by closing off the vent line to the new filter but had no idea why that resolved the problem. I plan to correct the issue by installing it correctly once we get a break in the weather. I don't know what kind of fuel filter is installed on your 2013 build machine. You just need the follow the fuel line that comes out of the bottom of the fuel tank and that will lead you to the filter. An in-line filter has the fuel coming in one side and out the other. A separation filter has a plastic or glass bowl that the filter sits into. If you do have any water in your fuel the water will collect at the bottom of the bowl and the diesel fuel will float on top of the water. When you see this you simply remove the bowl and dump it out. Wipe it clean and reinstall the bowl. Hope this helps.

My annual problems are the critters who crawl into and incubate/hibernate/nest in the fuel-tank vents, electrical outlets, and air-boxes. Then again, my house is in their forest...
