RTV 500 Question

   / RTV 500 Question #21
The RTV500 was built with the Mule 610 in its sights. You'll find a lot of size simularities.

I think Kubota was really kinda copying Kawi, because look at the comparison btwn-

RTV 900- Mule 3010-4010

RTV 1140- Mule 3010-4010 trans

RTV 500- Mule 610

RTV 1100- I think this falls more in the mini-truck category

No offense intended. I prefer Kubota over Kawi anyway, so not putting a company down. I really prefer Deere/Polaris best but, whatever.

The RTV500 plow shown on the Kubota website & brochure is that a Curtis plow? Does it have a float position? hydraulic lift etc?

I just got my snow plow for it this weekend...Don't know who makes it but it's through Kubota. It's a pretty heavy duty unit..Looks like a mini version of a PennDot Truck plow.

According to this comparison the Kubota RTV500 is a little better in my opinion than the Kawasaki Mule. You will need adobe acrobat to open this. This came straight off the Kubota website. I went with the RTV500. It does the job I need it for which is farm work, hauling feed, minerals, etc to the field from the barn.

I like the efi of the kubota better. Previously we had a kawasaki prarie 360 4x4 quad and it had a carburator and was a pain in the arse to start in the winter time. RTV fires up every time without fail.

I paid 8100 for mine with a windshield, trailer hitch, back metal wire mesh cargo screen, front brush guard and heavy duty tires so I can drive it on the road some if I need to as the atv tires just wont last for that.

Just bought a 2010 Kubota 500. Based the decision on transmission. I have heard a lot of horror stories about transmissions with belts. Narrowed it down to the Honda Big Red and the Kubota. These are supposedly the only ones without belts. The Kubota was about a $1000.00 cheaper. Mine will be used mostly for working around the house and grounds and I will hunt with it some. My hunting is not real rough and I expect to get a long life out of it. My 4-wheeler was 10 yeas old and had 210 hours on it ! I like the quick start response and also the de-accelaration feature when you let off the gas. It is almost like a jake brake. I don't plan on adding a lot of accessories, maybe a gun carrier and a rear view mirror. It appears there are enough accessories to make the thing look like an armoured Humvee.
