Thanks for the input everyone. Sounds like either set of tires will work out for plowing just fine. I think I would go with the Kubota plow just because it seems like a nice easy on/off system, and its a well built component. The worksite tires are a better fit for my property, so Ill go that way. I reached out to the dealer Im working with to ask about the heavy duty struts and if they are included as part of the package.

Its a lot of money for the size of the machine, but I figure it will run for quite a long time as long as I keep up on the maintenance.

Well, I went with the HD tires. Plow and some other accessories are on the way, and I should be getting a new ride next week. Hooray!

I'm sure I'll be posting some additional questions in the near future, probably about adding some lighting..

Would be wise to get some tire chains just to have around in case you get icey conditions or deeper snow. Better to have them and not need them than to be stuck wishing you had them.

I use chains on the rear tires of my full size tractor; definitely worth it.

Thanks for the tip! Just looked and found a set for the rears at the Amazon Warehouse for $25. They are four link and not two, but for the money Im not going to complain.

Go with the tires that come on the unit. If you need more traction - chains. You will be surprised at how much more traction they will provide.

The worksite tires offer a flatter surface which is good for mounting your chains. Worksite tires and diamond ice chains are a good combination for plowing. You will run out of power before traction with that combo.

I wanted to post back to everyone to follow-up after some snow for the winter.

The worksite tires were impressive in the snow that we had, which included a 16" whallop in December. No ice to contend with, so I didnt even bother with chains. Never had a problem with traction or power, mostly just stopped moving when there was too much snow to push.

So for anyone thinking about it, I would say its a worthwhile upgrade, and suited me just fine.
