Ok I by no means a mechanic so please advise me! I just got done riding my rtv in yard stopping it lots and restarting! Things were going good and I got ridding aggressively and the fans kicked on! I stopped cut off then cut ignition on and sure enough the fuel pump didn't come on! I turned the starter and machine fired up but died in 3 seconds! Just for the heck of it I sprayed a cool type contact cleaner all over the 4 relays by the fuses where the fan blows and one kind of steamed up! I turned ignition on and the fuel pump came on fired up and ran good! Is this a sign that the relays going bad?
All advise is welcome! I hate sitting in the middle of no where waiting for this thing to fire up!!!! Thinking of selling once get straightened out and going with new mid size 800 ranger!

Misfire just bought a 500 after a lot of research, I mean hands on the hole ball of wax research so I don't think yours is junk an I'm sure he will figure this out.

Which relay kind of steamed up? There are four in a row. The row runs front to back (or vice versa). If you can point out which one it was, we can tell you what it does and see how it might impact the fuel pump.

I am pretty sure it was the back one! Closest to the bed or possibly the one before that! So is that possible to cool the relay and it let power get to the furl pump?

Doesn't look like it. The rearmost relay is the radiator fan relay, the next rearmost is the starter motor relay. Both of those would have been passing a lot of current from your description of what had been happening and could be expected to be somewhat hot.

The fuel pump circuit does not run through a relay. Without having my hands on your machine, I suspect it is one of the following in order of the most likely,

1. Fuel pump assembly.

2. Fuel pump connector.

3. The ten amp fuse (fuse #2).

4. The ECU (engine computer), which controls the fuel pump on the ground lead side.

5. The associated wiring.

The easiest thing to check is the ten amp fuse. Simply replace it with a spare. The next easiest thing to do is to remove the connector from the fuel pump and examine if for bent or burn contacts, or anything that looks suspicious. Also check the contacts on the fuel pump itself. Following that I would make a resistance check of the fuel pump. It should read approximately 1.5 ohms. If it reads a lot higher or open, the pump assembly is bad.

If all that checks good and it still won't start, you will probably need expert on site help.

Well guys I give up! I loaded it up and took to the dealer today! Look like another group bought the dealership or partnered with them! The service guy was like super swamped! His first words were sounds like vapor lock. I said if it were that look like the fuel pump would always kick on! He said yea u right! I felt sorry for the guy, he was on phone, had people in line, and also trying do paper work! Looks like lots Kubota stuff messing up! He said they just fired 2 of his mechanics and did not know when they get to mine! I 99% sure I get it back it's going on Craigslist and I will become a ranger owner!!!! So if anyone looking for one let me know!

Sounds like a good decision, win, win situation, someone will get a good machine and you'll get the machine that you want.

.

What if the mechanic absolutely positively finds the trouble (ie : an intermittent broken wire in a harness or something like that) and the machine runs perfect again ? Would you like it enough to keep it ?
