I just got off the phone with Curtis Industries, the company that builds the cab/windshield for Kubota. According to their parts guy that windshield is unique and exclusive to Kubota.
Looks like I have to suck up and buy the kubota glass :hissyfit:

Before you give up,it would be worth a call to an automotive glass shop.
I would think they could make a close sized sheet of safety glass bring it to your RTV,then mark and trim it back at their shop.
That is if is a flat windshield-I guess I don't know for sure!
Good Luck!

Thanks Number Two,

Sadly there is a slight radius to this piece. There are seven holes too.

Actually there are more than that. There are holes for the wiper kit that I have never installed :)

Guess you guys have had more and different experience than me. I've only had 5 years experience with a plexigas windshield I had cut and installed myself on my RTV1140. I think I paid $40 for it and wouldn't go the $70 for the Lexan that was so much more scratch resistant. I currently have no scratches or hazing and my 5 year old, last payment made in November, RTV1140 sits outside most of the time and is driven by my wife, me and my 11 year old twin grandchildren that have always driven it. No, I don't drive mostly in the woods but I do have several trails that we drive on and have to cut the overhanging new growth limbs a couple of times a year when they intrude into the inside with us.
I think the $700/$800 glass is the best option for everyone that has the money and wants the best.

Where's the build pics and thread??? I need a windshield for my RTV. Spending hundreds of $$$ does not appeal to me!

Thanks!

Measure the size window you want and go to a glass shop or even Lowe's and buy a piece the size you need, they'll cut it for you. Drill holes on the side and or top and bottom where you can run zip ties thru the glas and around something fixed and pull the zip tight.
I didn't cut mine across the middle and install hinges or a piano hinge but I would if I ever buy another one or even take this one off and "fix" it. Cutting in half lets one drop the top half in warm weather for the flow thru breeze.
Mine isn't factory custom but my RTV1140 isn't in parades or "pretty" like my Mini Cooper Coupe which never goes out in the rain. My RTV still looks great except for the few rusted bolts which I will one day remove and replace after 5 years of mostly sitting out side. Mine even has a small dent in the bed gate where I lifted the bed while having the riser trailer hitch installed. Small depression in the camouflage finish but I can find it if I look for it.
I have a rear camera and 7" monitor to install for rear vision and have had it for a couple of years but will one day get it installed. Got a switch to fit he dash where the blank cover was so I can hook power into lighter wire. I'll also zip tie the wires from rear to front down to power, when I do it. It won't look like a factory installation but it will work as well.
I'll see if pics will post today which frequently they won't here.

I used these when I made my windshield.
Cushioned-Tube-Clamps.jpg

Worked a bit better than zip ties and not too expensive. I think I paid about $20 on Ebay for 6 of them. My Ranger has a tube frame around the windshield and these clamp right on. I don't know if the RTV is exactly the same, but I think it'll work. They also have some for other shapes, but I never explored them since round worked for me.

I have a glass bubble shaped windshield on my RTV 900 but I think a flat piece of glass would be able to fit if you had a glass shop drill the holes in the correct location. This might be a cheaper alternative to the $700 Kubota pricing.

I also believe these will work. They are what I was hunting for until I decided to just try zip ties in case I needed/wanted to remove the plexi for some reason. Still on as it has been for years. Still plan to install center hinges then remove them and then cut the plexi in half and then reinstall hinges for summer breeze.

Johnthomas, what did you use to cut the lexan and not scratch it?

Thanks,

Thanks,

A band saw works great or even a little saber saw. If doing that, mask the path where the saber saw will travel to prevent the scratching.............
