RTV 900 Hourmeter Question

On my new RTV 900 the hourmeter runs even when the ignition key is in the first "accessory" position. I discovered this because the hourmeter now shows 42 hours of operation in two weeks. I also have an L3010 and the hourmeter does not run unless the engine is running.

Is this correct for the RTV or is mine wired into the wrong part of the harness?

Many hour meters are hour per hour of the key being on.
