I have a Kubota M-5400 and a B-2910 plus a G-1800 riding mover which is orange too.
I have a deposit down on a new RTV900 worksite. With all these recalls and hassles I wonder if I should cancel the order and wait for next years models. The dealer gave me the old price increase story which is going to be true for everything, but it's just a thought. The model I am buying is a 2004, but I don't know what the serial #'s are. Should I jump in and deal with the issues or wait till the next models to come out, hopefully fixed. I have owned many Kubotas and never have any problems with them and thats using them them hard too. Are these ATV900 just having introduction problems? Any ideas or good advice would be appreciated. If you have a deposit on a RTV that hasn't even arrived yet, you will be just fine. There has been only 1 minor recall and most (if not all those) hassles have been addressed. Right now would be a good time to get one...the vast majority of the issues or hassles have been "fixed" via running changes on the assembly line. If there is any particular hassle you are worried about PM me and I will advise accordingly.

Thanks Jippy. Your the first to reply. I have always had good luck with orange and the UTV 900 looked like it was put together right. A first model is always a ground breaker and I have a good dealer. I have been with them since 1971. I need to have faith. The delivery date is next week and I am adding a plastic top as I was told the medal ones rattled. I will let you know the progress along the way. Thanks again. I'm probably the biggest "griper" out here. I'll pick the machine over and over looking for defects.

As Jippy said, you'll be fine.

We've picked on a few things but Kubota has resolved/addressed almost all of them. As it breaks in, the rest seem to be self-correcting (e.g. the tranny gets better).

You'll be very happy with it... enjoy.

I'll be the third to agree we my two other RTV friends. We all knew that this was Kubota's first attempt and minor issues, which we tend to talk to death quite frequently in this forum, are much about the RTV being new for Kubota. That fact still remains that they (Kubota) put a solid and proven motor (same one used on the BX23 ) in it and built a frame surrounding that motor second to none. Some of us have also heard that a price increase for next years model is certain, so having said that and what us 2004 guys mostly say, you better buy now if you want one of these bad puppies. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Good luck to you!

Hmmm,
I don't think anything is a show stopper. My dealer has been upfront and responsive to the foggy gauges and the hood issue.

The more the RTV is used, the more it gets used. It is a needed part of the property now. We are glad to have it and it is a perfect fit for our needs.

I'd go get it, knowing what "issues" are out there.

Hello again Jippy. Thanks again for the reply. I was curious about what you meant by addressing the issues on the assembly line. Does that mean a 2005 will be a corrected version of the 2004? Just being a little jumpy. The dealer said to ignore these chat rooms, but that would take the fun away. He said that everyone that buys a tractor is an instant expert, but I feel that if you own and operate a machine you are going to know what works and what doesn't. So anyhow, so it goes. I trust Kubota or I wouldn't have bought 10 of them over the last 30 years. Thanks again. Kenta /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They are just running changes/revisions/improvements implemented on the assembly line, so if a change is made it is incorporated into the RTV right away instead of doing them all in 2005 for that model year...like cars/trucks tend to make little improvements and introduce/implement them at new model year time. Make sense?

Whoa! That is a bonehead remark from that dealer. If it was not for the "chat room" I would not have bought an RTV, let alone KNOWN about it, in the marketplace.

But then again, I don't consider this site to be a "chat room".

I like the support and knowledge base of this site.

Comming from a dealer... ignoring them is extreme, but do take the infomation with a grain of salt. Issues tend to be over blowen and people hyperfocus on certian issues. There is no substitute for getting your butt in the seat. All the internet research in the world can't compare with an hour actually driving stuff around.
