RTV Manual

   / RTV Manual #11
Speaking about the manual, I have one on order,

Until I receive it, I have a question.

How do I check and lubercate the wet brakes?

We had to use our RTV900 in high water during Hurricane Jeanne to remove items from our home. Now when I apply the hand brake while moving, it sounds rough, very rough. I have removed and replaced all other fluids, engine, trans and front end.

Other than the wet brakes all else checks OK

Thanks in Advance

Little pics don't work very well but that's my son.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
In the pic, he's 2 years old. Lots of blonde curly hair but with a couple of his nicknames being Tarzan and Godzilla, it's about impossible to cut his hair. Just won't sit still.

Oops! Sorry. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif No insult at all intended. Small picture. Ok, it would be fair to then comment that my picture of "me" looks good. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

No insult taken.
It happened all the time (past tense since I can now cut his hair). I'd go into any store and get the same. Fixed that by changing his attire before going out. With leather work boots, Carhartt coat, blue jeans and some shirt with tools pictured on it he looked more like a boy. (and darn cute seeing a kid with work boots and a Carhartt on).
I just hope he remains a "daddy's boy". He is glued to me. His most common statements are: "Outside", "I'll help" and "I'll do it".
Really slows projects down but I'll sacrifice that to have him with me.

Bud,
Hope the hurricane didn't affect you too much. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I don't have the manual nearby. If nobody else posts before I can get my hands on it, I'll look it up.
Question - why are you applying the hand brake while moving???? What area sounds "rough". If moving, you now have the tranny/engine and brakes fighting each other.

Brian,

I apply the hand brake while moving only as a test. I discovered that I had a problem when I started in low gear with the handbrake on by accident. When the RTV900 was new and I did this, is was a smooth heavy drag. Now it is a rough grinding drag. The noise is definitely coming from the wet brakes. I plan to disassemble the wet brakes this week end and inspect them.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
