How is the quailty of the door fit up and how is the sound level? does the overhead console cover the whole roof? does the cab need one wiper or two ?does anyone have the overhead console and do you think it's worth the money ?is the interior of the metal cab insulated ? do the side windows open ?
Thanks

The metal cab is certainly not air tight. There are a number of locations where you can see daylight. The installation manual says to use silicone sealant to plug these up but there are some areas that are just too impractical to be sealed. There are a couple of small gaps between the door and the RTYV900 body but not large enough to be a problem with rain or wind IMHO. Then there are the areas around the hydraulic dump lever and the seat belt anchors that have some fairly large open gaps. Part of the cab installation also includes a rubber baffle that fits up under the hood to keep some of the air flow to a minimum. I've got the heater and it seems to work good in the 40 degree weather we've had this fall. The real test will be at 0 degrees this winter.

The roof of the cab is insulated but nothing else is. Noise level doesn't seem to be much worse than running without the cab.

The windows are two piece sliders. You can either open the front half or the back half.

Can't comment on the console other than it's very expensive -$600(?) and I would question how good the CD/Radio would sound with the diesel engine running.

Edit - Forgot the wiper question. I have one wiper. There's a spot in the windshield for a passenger wiper but that may be overkill. You can always add the second one later if you think one doesn't give you enough of a view.

Speaking of cabs, I have the metal top and windshield on my RTV. I am considering adding the remaining parts to make it a full-blown cab. Has anyone else done this? Does Kubota have a "kit" for those who already have the top and windshield? I would think this type of "upgrade" would be common. Does anyone know how I can get my hands on a parts diagram/book for the cab?

Thanks

I concur with LLoyd. My cab is about like his. Small gaps but no big deal. Heater works great in 45 degree temps here..

lloyd123 - On the console/stereo I made, (with the amp on), you can hear the stereo fine.

For those without any section of roof/windshield/cab yet, you may want to check Hunterworks. He's making a roof/back panel/dash console for the RTV. I don't know if there's plans for doors yet.
