Rtv Range Select

Well............
I got my RTV back yesterday having changed the driveshaft and new speed control. So far rattles are gone and the machine stops very abruptly. It's going to take some time to get used to.
The main problem I have is with the speed control change. Now when accelerating from a stopped position it feels like the emergency brake is partially engaged. I don't know if they didn't adjust the linkage properly or if this is just one of the changes I have to live with. It's like more power is needed to get it rolling. I've also lost about 3 mph as I've heard someone earlier stated. Any help with the linkage adjustment would be greatly appreciated.

After the change to the old style I noticed the dealer left the damper secured in the lower position. Is this the correct install? Seems like I read that the damper should be positioned on top of the bracket.

BTW The driveshaft rattles are back and LOUDER!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

The damper is supposed to be installed opposite of what you had now (in the upper position), it's just a matter of some crotter pins to install it correctly.

Trying not to be confused, but are you saying with the "old" style the damper is supposed to be on top? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the pic. Can anyone tell me what effect it had with the damper install opposite from what it should be with the old style. I change it but I can't tell any difference in the way it operates, or should there be any noticeable difference?

The only noticeable difference would probably be in the amount of time it takes for the VHT to return to the natural position (longer when incorrectly installed).

Tact,

I've been offline for awhile. Is your speed control all set?
I tried both versions and personally found it was the "non-abrupt" version that gave me a loss of speed.

Hi Brian,
Long time no hear. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I went back to the old style version and noticed the machine straining on acceleration from a stand still. I also noticed the difference in the abrupt stopping, which I am becoming accustomed to. When I began to look at the setup closer I noticed the dealer had left the damper in the original position so I reversed it for the old style, putting it on top of the bracket, and it helped it tremendously. I'm still working on getting used to the stopping. I think it will be fine as time passes. Now the only open issues are the driveshaft rattles and th fogging gauges. I spoke with the rep from Kubota last week who stated there still are no fixes. See you on the forum.

Brian,

I forgot to mention that with the original old version speed control I've lost about 3 mph top speed in high range.
