I edited my post and attached a pic and replied to your previous post about taking a measurement.

Here's a pic of mine. Please excuse the dirt. I'm getting ready to wash and wax it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Your damper is located above your top linkage. You do have the old style speed control?

Never mind, I just read your post more carefully and noticed you stated NEW STYLE. My pic does verify that I do have the old style.

Fred,

Attached is a pic of where my speed control assembly sits with the pedal fully depressed.

Thanks Brian,

When I can get some assistance I'll see what mine looks like. If I recall, I don't believe my cam goes all the way down to the bottom of the plate on the speed control as yours does. Thanks for the pic.

Fred

BTW If I have to adjust the bottom linkage, do I also have to adjust the top linkage to compensate?

Fred,

You're welcome. Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do it but my 3 year-old was more than happy to step on the pedal for me. I just needed to explain to him that it's a 1-time deal.

Sorry for the dark pic but you can see where my cam is located when the pedal is full depressed. Also look at the exposed threads on the top linkage compared to yours. I adjusted the bottom linkage which had no effect on the cam location so I would assume my top linkage needs adjusting. What do you think? Are there other adjustments to be made if I adjust the top only?

UPDATE - The adjustment of the top linkage was the cure. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I now have my speed back up to 27mph, a gain of 5mph. Thanks again for your pic and help. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
