Well I know the topic is diverse but I have been shopping and Im ready to go for it. I tried the RTV and found it everything that everyone talks about...powerful...smooth...LOUD! the ranger...well the price is right and the Rhino...I fell in love with the ergonomics of the cabin...I know its not so much utility but a lot more fun. the Ranger 4x4 is @ 8K the Rhino 4x4 is @ 8K the RTV is at 10K

What are the main advantages and disatvantages of all and what would you guys do if you could do it over /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the feedback!!

I figure the only reasonable answer is to buy the RTV for real work and buy a Rhino for fun. That's what I did. Love my RTV, and it is a blast and a brute! However, I also wanted more fun so I ordered an '05 Rhino. After careful consideration I just didn't think the Polaris 6X6 measured up to either.

I concur with Dargo (RTV=work, Rhino=fun) and Chuck's response of checking out the HPX.

For the Ranger, it's inbetween. Prior to the RTV coming out, I was going to get a Ranger. Take a look at my reply to the thread "Why the RTV" dated 8/9 for what I've found in a comparison of the RTV vs. the Ranger.

An RTV and a Rhino? No doubt the best of both worlds /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif, I'm just curious why you went with similar machine (rhino) instead of going with an ATV or dirt bike for your fun time.

I raced competitive motocross in the 125cc and 250cc class for many years (also many years ago) and some of the old injuries are starting to hurt again. My wife is not overly keen on me having another dirt bike. She overheard me talking with another guy when I was getting excited to hear that I could now race in the "old timers" class. I figured that I could clean up in that class and always "trophy" as we used to call it. She nixed that idea! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

As far as an ATV, I did buy one when my youngest (I have 5 kids) was about 6 or 7. When I was teaching him how to drive it, he flipped it and it broke my femur when I kept it from crushing him. Fortunately he was totally uninjured; just confused why dad was writhing in pain. Yeah, that hurt. Thus, no more vehicles for the kids without roll cages and seat belts. Hey, I do still have my original 1971 Honda 50! Still runs great and so far she doesn't forbid me or the kids to ride it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I understand the safety principle. I only allowed my kids(now 16 & 17) to ride dirt bikes up until a couple of years ago, and now they only ride a smaller atv (honda 250EX)

I have ridden all my life too, and am considering the rhino but my back says NO! I like the fact 2 can ride in it but am concerned about the pounding my back would take. ATV seems to be a little more forgiving when I do decide to rev it up.

I have a KTM 620EXC I haven't ridden in awhile due to the ol' back too. So now I have to find different toys to have fun with and still allow me to walk upright the next day /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
