Just recently found out that Kubota was in the utility market. (Guess I don’t get out much) Was wondering if A/C is available w/ cabs. Don’t see any info on their web site that shows it as an option. Also, can you put other attachments on the front i.e. mower, snow blower, broom e.t.c. I notice on the turf units there is a hydraulic port for using hand held tools. Didn’t know if there were ports on the front.
I think with a little effort Kubota could offer up an alternative to the Tool Cat for people like me who could never justify $30k to $ 45k for a machine that is overkill for my needs.
Since I obviously don’t know much about utilities, is there a brand out there that has cab w/ A/C and you can mow with as well as do snow removal? Those are really the two main tasks for me. I have access to skid loader for dirt work etc.

I don't know if they offer A/C or not but I do think you'd be better off with a cab tractor. By the time you got this RTV decked out the way you want it you'd be up there with a nice smaller cab tractor. Better resale value too. Just my opinion.

There's no AC offered - it's only a three cylinder, 22hp engine so I doubt the engineering would be possible.

I haven't seen any snow blower or mower - there's no PTO. I have seen a sweeper on the Internet that had it's own gas engine for power.

I have the hydraulic angle blade control on my Worksite that brings the hydraulic ports to the front but it's not designed for continuous operation - just moving the snow blade from side to side. I don't know if the Turf model has a way to move the hydraulic remote to the front. The Turf model has a hydraulic cooler that allows continuous operation.

Regal, if you want to do more than what you can with an RTV but less than what's possible with a Bobcat Toolcat 5600 (which I own), it sounds like you'd be interested in products Ingersoll-Rand's Club Car and Bobcat units are lauching in 2006.

Bobcat is significantly upgrading the Bobcat 2200 4X4 UV (also sold as I-R Club Car models) to enable it do much more work up front. Attachments will include a front mower with its own engine, snow removal options, etc.

Bobcat is also introducing a smaller Toolcat 4600 utility work machine that does a lot more than the newly designed 2200, but is lighter and cheaper than current 5600. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also consider a used 2003 or 2004 Toolcat 5600 if price is your major concern about buying a new one. They have 44, 46 or 56hp Kubota diesels in them.

BTW, note that Ingersoll-Rand is one of the biggest customers Kubota has for diesel engines and other parts put in Bobcat skid steers, Toolcats, CTLs, I-R industrial equipment, etc. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I believe the oil flow on the turf model w/ continuous flow also is only 4 or 5 gpm if I remember correctly. Would that even be adequate for running a hydraulic driven mower? Would not be the least bit interested in having a mower w/ separate engine.
As for the engineering for A/C, I could probably design my own similar to what I did on the cab I built for my tractor. Photos What caught my attention about this type of machine is it’s travel speed. I sometimes do snow removal and mowing for others in my area (not for hire / just for fun) and I liked the 25 mph idea. Another thing I don’t understand, what is variable hydro transmission? Is the ground speed controlled by engine rpm or doe’s it operate the same as a hydrostatic drive machine where you set the rpm where ever you want and control ground speed with hydrostat? If it operated like a car then I see no way to run any kind of implement at a constant speed while changing ground speed.
I will check out the Ingersoll-Rand, Power-Trac and the new Tool Cat. THANKS

Here's an interesting self contained/powered snow thrower:

Bercomac

They don't list any attachment options for a UTV - just a number of ATV's - but that seems like a solvable problem.

Of course this does cost $3,700 as well.

I think its 6.2 gpm.

The hydrostat works by varying both the engine RPM and slosh plate angle. Its somthing you really need to drive to understand. I don't doubt you could rig up an A/C unit. There is plenty of room around the engine to fit up a compressor.

We got a flier from Sims Cab Depot that showed a roof mounted 12V A/C system that was available for the RTV900. Headliner mounted evaporator, may require HD alternator.
Thought we had one sold, but never worked out. We were interested in seeing it though.

If you are dead set on getting something with A/C the B3030 compact tractor might suit you....smallest tractor you can get with a cab. And it would be able to do what you are looking for.
