RTV900 Hydro Dump

On one of the other web sites I read that Kubota is adding a knob for a "hydro dump" on the dash of the 2006 RTV900.

Can someone explain what's this used for?

It is to allow you to release some pressure in the transmission to make shifting ranges easier. Hopes this helps.

It will dump the pressure build up created in the transmission to help relieve the shifting problem. Atleast that's what the idea is. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Even though I've never experience the shifting problem with my RTV900 does anyone know if this can be retrofitted to previous models?

We received 2 2006 worksites yesterday, some other dealers in our area got some earlier in the year, depends on Kubota's allocation process when you get the units in. At the machinery show this week I heard some talk at the Kubota booth about a retro fit kit, but they did not think one had been released and were not sure if one was in the works.

I have not looked to see how the ones we got in are designed, the fellows dicussing it at Louisville did't think it would be hard to do, but they were just speculating.

I've had them for at least a month. I read a bullitin somewhere that said there is no retrofit. Frankly. I am not sure why its needed. I've not really heard complaints about this.

FYI - we just traded 4 Used RTV's. If anyone is interested email ASAP. Its likley they will all be gone within a week.

To answer your question it has nothing to do with the dump, I got my 06' rtv in about 2 weeks ago and it is just used if the transmission gets in a bind to help you shift gears. I have had to use it one time in 10 hours and it did help alot! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

There are still the same versions as before, work site, general, turf, camo. Some do have the dump, others don't.
