RTV900 Replacement Wheels/Tires

I live about ten miles SouthEast of Bloomfield in Greene County.

i would go with some 27'' 589's i have them on my gator and now i go through stuff in 2 wheel drive that i used to go through in 4 wheel drive. they have about 1 1/4 of thread and they come oversized (the 27'' in bigger that 27'')

What tire did you have on your HPX before ? On ours we have the high performance all terrain (the better of the ones offered by the dealer). I had the High performance all purpose tires on my 6x4 and theres no comparison of the two but it still leaves me wondering if theres more to be had. Although I don't know that I will ever need more.

it came with the carlyle 489's they were 24'' tall 12 1/2 '' wide in the rear and 9 1/2 wide in the front. my new ones are itp 27'' 589's 9'' in the front and 11'' in the rear.

Wow thats amazing. I didn't know you could get much better then the tires that I had.

i have stock tires on a rtv and stock tires on a rhino. rtv does fine except on rocky trails i think suspension is to stiff to get good traction.rhino goes in 2wd where rtv struggles in 4wd.rtv is a tractor and rhino is a sport bike. i would keep the rtv though if i had to choose

I put a set of Essex 27" 589's with Kevalar Belts on my RTV. They look and work great. I added a 1 5/8" lift kit at the same time. Stock wheels work fine. Going through mud is great. I think you lose a little in pulling power and since my property is just about mud free these days, I have removed the 589's and gone back to 25" off road that came with my unit. If you are interested I have a set in my barn I'll sell for $200 (Cost $400) They are like new and no holes or leaks. I attached a picture so you can see what it looks like with lift and 27" 589's

Hi,
I too am new to this board and seems like a BUNCH of good information on here.
I recently just got a RTV Rec.... and think that the tires will need to be changed.
My question is if you go with like a 26 or maybe even a 27 would you also have to install a lift kit as well to keep from rubbing etc.

I think you need to add the lift kit. When I put on my 27" tires I also added a 1 5/8" lift. I think it would have been too close without the lift. Now that I removed the 27" tire I still like to looks with the lift kit.

Still have my old tires. 27" Essex 589's with Kevalar belts.
