For one thing, the High Intake will let the engine breath better, intake more air quicker / get's more air / and the inlet system is a whole lot better >>>>>>>>>
>>>>> bigger filter box also ~~~

You will feel the differance as soon as you intall it, We Did !!!!!!

I think you will be very happy with the 900. I have no experience with other RTVs but bought a 900 about a month ago. I have two Kubota tractors & have been very happy with both. I live on the side of a mountain with a driveway 1/4 mile long & very steep. I had a trailer loaded with logs which probably weighed over 1,000lbs. The trailer empty is 250lbs. The 900 pulled this load up the driveway. It had to be in low gear and 4x4 drive, but it made it. I doubt many other rtvs could have done the same.

how many hours are you guys getting to a tank ? Are you running full throttle most of the time ?
I've never gotten down to checking it that close. I just know that the guage hardly ever moves. I do a lot of putzing around but I do work it too. The hardest I run it is when I'm running the log splitter from the rear hydraulics and after several hours of splitting wood the gauge still does not move. It's at about 3/8 tank right now and I can't even remember when I filled it up last. It's been well over a month and I use it some every day.:D

Mule 3010 gas - has pulls a 5x10 trailer with 1000# load often and has pulled 2000# a fair number of times. Some hills, max is about 15%. Not real steep, but enough to make most folks stop and pant walking up. The hill is about 250 yards long.

I think most UTV's would be able to take the load up the hill in low range 4x4. Heck, I use the mule to jocky my 23' cuddy cabin around the yard. That's 7500#.

Thanks for the infos!

I'm from today a happy owner of a "bota" 900! :D

It'll be delivered tomorrow at the farm, I'm going to Really test drive it around by then. Now it's still the base version, later on let's see if I'll add any modifications.

About the snorkle, how does it get better performance? I know the natural advantages, like less dirt and deeper water, but performance??

Two biggest advantages of the snorkel air cleaner are that the snorkel is up away from the dust and it is a larger air cleaner thus allowing more air flow, which is also a good thing. Easier to change out the filter and the filter will last longer than the stock one.

Nice, I am looking to move my 20' boat around the yard too.

Deciding between the Mule and RTV900 too.

The hydraulics on the RTV900 are nice to drive, but the belt system of the Mule seems much more simple.

So I have owne a Mule 3010 gas version. I traded it in last fall for the RTV-900. They both have advantages and faults in my opinion. Here are some thoughts:

Top Speed: About the same, 25 MPH, but side by side mule gets to 25 faster.

Noise: Mule gas version wins hands down, RTV makes more noise than my diesel tractor

Power Steering: RTV wins hands down, I've broken a finger with the mule manual steering..

Trans: I like hydros, and the RTV works, but they do not have the shifting figured out. It is crap at best. Pulling some knob and waiting for pressure to drop before changing gears is BS. Make the forward/reverse the same as my tractor, one foot pedal goes forward and back. God help you if you need to reverse quickly, cause it won't happen.

Traction: The RTV comes with very agressive tires, and I seldom need 4 WD, where with the mule I often had to put it in 4 WD. That is a tire issue, but the mule is 500 pounds heavier, so that matters also.

Towing: The mule did pull a lot and never had a problem. It lost traction first before running out of pulling power. The RTV I like, but I am not 100% sold yet, but it is still sort of new with only 75 hours. Last weekend I filled the back up with wood, and had my yard trailer on it. The total weight of the trailer was about 1,000 pounds. (it holds one yard). In first gear it went up some of my very steep hills to get home, so it certainly did the trick.

Fuel Economy: The RTV diesel wins hands down over the 3010 gas.

Ruggedness: They are both built well. The RTV is heavier, but I suspect the frames are about the same. Construction is frankly good on both.

Design: Some things the Mule did better. Air intake already up high on the top of the roll bar. (no need for a snorkle). The mule has way more storage. Includes a glove compartment and a front storage area. RTV has neither, but for 100 bucks you can buy some POS for the RTV that is cheap.

Overall, they are both good. If the new mules had power steering and a hydro trans I may have bought that, but they don't... so I have an RTV!

Wayne

Thanks Wayne, excellent comparison. :)

How did the belt drive of the Mule compare to the Hydro of the Kubota?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the belt drive system appears much simpler compared to the hydro.

Now the 4010 Kawi comes with power steering!
