By chance have you looked at putting a throttle on it. ( I don't know if your vehicle comes with one or not). I put a throttle (kubota option) on my x900 and it has helped some. You will be able to tell the difference. Search for throttle mods on this site to see comments about them.

hand throttle is often suggested for performance issues.

As was said, its an HST.. you can't drive it like a high-rev CVT.

A HST is basically a hydraulic pump connected to a hydraulic motor. The go pedal on the floor is not a throttle, it sends more fluid to the motor. Essentially pushing on the go pedal harder is up shifting.

Would you shift from 4th to 5th gear when you had trouble climbing a hill? That's essentially what you are doing when you stomp on the go pedal. Ease off the pedal to "downshift" for more power.

Learning to get the most useable power from an RVT is a steep learning curve for most operators.

I can top most hills at a faster ground speed with less pedal.

I have heard operators complain of completely stalling their machine. It's always from too much pedal.

The hand throttle option helps when in low range. Not so much in high range.

thank you for all replys will try that an play with it a little bit. i think i will see if the dealer can adjustments also. thanks again for all the replys. will keep everyone informed with what i come up with.
There is a procedure to adjust the relationship between the HST position and the engine RPMs. IIRC, on the RTV500 the way to check it is to put the wheels in the air, floor the gas pedal and see what RPM the engine tops out at. Not sure if that is the case with yours but I would ask your dealer to check it out.
A little more engine RPM for the same HST "speed" will make a difference.

i thank you all again, the way it sounds i just need to spend more time on this machine, i plan on taking it back to the dealer an see what they can do also. but the way it sounds it might be we just need to learn how to operate this machine. i have to admit i was lookin forward to putting a turbo on it. with a straight pipe.

I've read a few threads about adding a turbo. The problem seems to be adjusting the fuel mixture. The factory pump adjustment parameter is too small. Leans the machine out. This eventually ends in piston failure from too much heat.

Not saying it can't be successfully done. Just saying it requires a lot of maturity on the operator's part and a broad knowledge of what's going on inside the engine when power is applied. Especially over a long period.

That engine, the D1105 was offered in turbo form, the only difference in the fuel system is the popets and about 1 degree of timing. There are some hardware differences like intake and 2 different injector lines to clear the intake.
I would imagine there should be enough adjustment in the fuel rack if you change the injector nozzles and keep the boost close to the factory level.

A dyno and egt gauge will be your friend.
I've been doing some research on the D1105 turbo so I can do the conversion on my tractor.

i think i am goin to go the dealer route an have them make some adjustments an then figgering out the big difference between my gators an this unit (rtvx1140) an how they operate. since i know now that i am goin to wait till the warrenty is up. then ya just never know.
