Our horses are outside 24/7 365 days a year. As you say. Where they should be. We have a large run in shed that is filled with chips and dust, tamped with a compactor, and covered with rubber mats. This set up has held up very well for four years now. My wife is an instructor for trimming barefoot horses. When we moved here four years ago she lost all her students because the drive for them was too far. We are now getting new students wanting to learn barefoot trimming. She trims in our present horse barn that has a gravel floor. She wants this barn floor carpeted with rubber horse mats. Like the set up where we used to live. Deja Vu. All over again.
