Rubber on 54\" Blade

I installed the JD Rubber piece on my 54" Blade and it doesn't do a ver good job on pushing Snow. Is this something anyone else has had a similar experence with or not?

Re: Rubber on 54\" Blade

I wouldn't expect it to do as good a job as a steel edge, but can you explain what 'a very good job' is that it doesn't do? I was looking into putting a rubber blade on a 7' Western plow for my drive, and figured I would have to give up some 'good' snow removal characteristics that I am accustomed to having.

Curious as to what the rubber is doing, or not doing.

Re: Rubber on 54\" Blade

The Blade seems to not ride down on the driveway (Blacktop)as well as the steel edge would. with 12 inches of Snow could be the height and weight of the Snow. I haven't tried it with the Rubber removed as yet, I have 200' plus to do and I've never had this much snow at one time. I was using my JD 332. I can move it ok with my 4110 with bucket on, maybe I'm to Old to learn. We now have 20" I give up!!
