I wanted to make a hutch for the grandkids bunny but I couldn't get excited about making something out of wooden frames and chicken wire.

So I picked up 3 doors dirt cheap from a local screen door maker. (These were old ones they had removed from customers who were getting new doors. They had pile of about 30 that they sell as scrap aluminium.)

I deliberately used a half panel door at the back for some wind protection. Theres a panel of shadecloth at the bottom for the bunny to sit on and another one in the front for shade. I'll also make a small enclosed box for the bunny to snuggle in to. The end panels are 6mm exterior ply.

It not the prettiest thing but its almost indestructible and its light enough for two people to easily carry or 1 person to drag around.

Just thought you'd like to see it in case you are considering building a hutch.

Looks like it would work for a backyard chicken tractor also.

I was just thinking the same!!

You have come up with a much simpler hutch that the one I built!! Three pages of scratch paper, two trips to Home Depot >$30 each and a whole lot of figuring and I still don't like what I came up with as well as yours.
