My first shot was always my best as I found myself flinching after the near compression fracture of the wrist I suffered.I imagine that ammo is a bit pricey as well, although I have never priced it.
I had an old 29 Smith with a 4" bbl years ago, never had the pleasure of handling the stainless "6" series. God Bless America. Not too many countries in the world where you can play with this kind of firepower just because you feel like it. Now I need a Barrett 50 cal semi auto rifle as soon as I can convince the wife how badly we NEED it.Those things are completely insane!

I preferred my 44 Desert Eagle to my buddies .50. On top of a smooth operating pistol right out of the box, I had a little tuning done, and Magna Ported the barrel. I didn't have a flinch problem, but I was shooting lots of big rounds already. The big magnums do have a way of making you flinch though
I just like the 29 series from S&W. It may have changed now, but I found a few years back that the Ruger's I owned really needed a tuning right out of the box. the couple I got had poor triggers compared to the other guns I was shooting. This was mainly with Blackhawks, 10-22's etc. The S&W's that I shot(mainly 29 series) shot very smooth out of the box.
I have shot a couple Redhawk's. They were nice, but I just like the Smith's. Kinda like the Ford/Chevy/Dodge pickup debates
My buddy with the DE 50AE, also has a single shot bolt action 50BMG, and a Barret Light 50BMG. He has moved to another state, so we don't shoot any more. But, those 50's are a ton of fun to shoot. I would note, they are boring to shoot at less than 500 yards... And, no-one else shoots while you shoot; the muzzle blast and report will clear benches around you. With my varmint barrel 308 bolt rifle, I could shoot as well as him at 500 yards. But when we shot at bowling pins, my 308 knocked them down, made them spin. The 50BMG kicked them 20' in the air
