" he told me of his understanding that Kubota is coming out with a competitor to the Mule and JD's Gator. He said it was supposed to be diesel and was "gonna blow their socks off"."

Wow, they got socks? My sister got jipped, her Mule didn't have no stinkin socks to get blown off! I gotta give her a call!

TresCrows:

You are absolutely right.

The factory in Horicon, Wisconsin gets Yanmars in in shipping containers and assembles them and sends them out. The also use Yanmar engines and components in some smaller tractors.

I used to haul Deeres out of the Horicon plant and I have seen the Yanmars firsthand.

Yep, I know I am right which is why I find it so bizzare when Japanese machine owners get constantly bashed by a certain few, one in particular. You know, I wish they were all built here in the USA but for good or bad, most are not and that is simply how it is. J

FWIW, I was told the 2230 would have brighter headlights, improved diff lock, easier PTO lever, seat interrupt, cruise control and new graphics of course /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Enjoy,

Kubota forum or not I have to agree with your statement. I just bought my first Kubota about a month ago and I looked heavly at the green counter parts. The green company has some nice looking equipment and a heck of a name in the industry however when I opened the fuel cover on the last one I looked at one of the spings that holds the door open flew up and hit me in the forehead. Ouch!!!!!
Something about that experiance really turned me off purchasing the equipment. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Well, NewTexan, Kubota builds a great tractor but they have certain oddities as well. There is no perfect machine, I would not hesitate to buy a JD or a NH. I really like certain of the NH models very much. Of the big three, Kubota has the least plastic but only by a tiny margin and some people like the plastic. Overall, I do like the orange units best /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif but that is me. J

Agree that the current Gator is no competition in many areas, however, it does have its strong points for certain uses. This price point will also put it squarely within the price range of the diesel Mule and the Polaris 6x6 Ranger, which is probably more of the target market. I own a 2003 6x6 Ranger, and love it, but am anxious to see what this new Kubota toy looks like and how it performs.

Don't take my post the wrong way. I can certianly appriciate the competitors equipment and their added extras. My biggest concerns were with the dealerships which I did not add in the post. The green dealer didn't even bother to come outside when I looked at his equipment and the blue dealer had no sales people in the place and said they would be happy to call me in a day or two.
The Orange dealer met me at the door, shook my hand and asked how he could help me. We spent an hour looking at several different models and he offered to hold the one I wanted until I could take delivery in three weeks with no money down (That was his offer not me asking).
That is one of the big reasons for purchasing the Kubota in the first place. I guess I am old fashion and judge people/business's by the first impression.

Dang I got long winded there.
Anyway the bottom line is that everyone has a opinion and preference. Mine just happens to be towards a B7500 Kubota. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

New Texan, same with me, even though I had wanted a Kubota since I first saw one I would have gladly taken any tractor of any type. I got a Kubota in the final analysis because my dealer treated me like family. He knows my name and several times has stopped by to chat. I don't mind a buisness making a profit and I feel he gave me a decent deal on both my tractors and has treated me with integrity. They are just farmers that sell Kubotas. When I first pulled in there a crusty old farmer with a new Grande L unit had pulled up with it on a trailer. He was having some kind of problem. The dealer, my friend now, was beside himself becasue the old guy brought the tractor in rather than calling them out. They had a mechanic swarming over the thing lickety split. The old farmer said he loved the tractor. I decided I had found my dealer. No regrets regardless of what I might buy in the future. I will not always be here so who knows. J
